Lexmark Optra E - Lexmark Optra E Toner Where You Can Find It

Thinking about buying a Lexmark Optra e - Lexmark Optra e toner? Then take a moment to think about another printer because the Optra e has been discontinued. That's right not available from the manufacturer anymore folks, but you might still find it online. It was a mass market model made by our friends at Lexmark. Don't worry though they have a lot more models where that one came from.

Laser printers differ from inkjets via the fact that they use lasers to capture the image to be printed. The image is then projected via optical laser onto a rotating, selenium covered drum.

After this the drum is charged, toner is then collected onto the charged areas. The drum then applies the toner in the needed patterns to the paper using heat, and direct contact. Although a little more costly than normal printers they are more efficient.

Because of the difference in technology, there are some safety concerns to be addressed. The extensive use of high voltage electronics inside the printer can lead to electric shock if touched. Unless you're a technician employed by Lexmark don't try to pry the side open and fool with it. Touching the outside is fine though, the printers have electrical protection to ensure safe usage.

Another hazard is the emition of gases. The printing process from a laser printer has the side affect of giving off small amounts of gases. These gases can form ozone, and nitrogen oxides if left unventilated. Under normal circumstances with adequate ventilation this is not an issue. In order to build up noticeable amounts however the printer has to be working for an extended period of time.

The bigger laser printers used by companies that make mass prints need plenty of ventilation however. Most businesses use carbon filters to keep the fumes from spreading outside. There is no risk from these fumes if the printer is handled, and used properly. Unless you shut the printer in a closet for 10 hours and, tell it to run constantly there won't be any fumes to worry about. The reported cases of a person getting sick from fumes have only happened in extreme circumstances, and are uncommon.

Lexmark's printers are very safe however, and extremely reliable. The company is a prime example of how to make reliable and easy to use equipment. Lexmark services most of the globe, and ships to most major countries. They also offer an extensive list of products other than printers. They employ over 13000 people worldwide.

The ink used in a laser printer is the same as the ink used in an inkjet printer. The little cartridges are essential to printer operation though. No ink and your printer become a paperweight. Toner can be bought at most retail stores, online, or through the manufacturer directly.

In closing you can't buy the Lexmark Optra e anymore. However you can still get the Lexmark Optra E toner online though. Lexmark toner has good technical support, even for their older machines. They still have drivers, and downloads for most of the equipment they have made.
