Designed originally for the bustling office and home office the Lexmark s 2455 is the perfect choice and nicely poised with all the necessary functions. Its 24 pages per sixty seconds mean that you will not have to wait for pints to come out because of the printing load. The workgroup feature of this printer means that it can easily be incorporated into an existing workgroup.
This is not a big and heavy printer that you are going to have a problem moving around. You will not need to hire a few guys to move this printer and this is one reason why this printer is so attractive because its so easy to accommodate.
We went ahead and tested the printer with a few test pages. The text on this printer looked great. Our mixed tests were also good except for a few gray areas around the pages. The text performed great when it came to printing out office clipart, except for a few artifacts. At the tinniest font size the printer still gave us crisp and sharp text.
When we wanted to print at high resolutions the printer took a few seconds more. The 1200 dpi print was great and grayscale prints looked picture perfect. Some fonts however didn't print very well because they looked kind of washed. At this price the printer is great and I wouldn't worry about a few hiccups. A 1200 dpi printing job took around 14 seconds to complete. We also tried our hand at printing letterheads, labels and envelopes.
You get a 250 sheet tray along with two 500 sheet trays with this printer. You also have the option to add another 2000 sheet optional tray. The printer has a capacity of 500 sheets in its output tray a small sensor will prompt you when it's full.
We found the LCD display very good as it gave us up to the minute status of what the printer was doing. The LCD is very useful when you are trying to troubleshoot your printer. However we did have a problem reading the LCD under bring office lights and day light. The prints output from the front of the Lexmark s 2455.
