Caring For Epson Printer Ink Cartridges

These recommendations will help you keep your printer in the best conditions and to recycle your inkjet cartridges more:

Never let the Epson printer ink completely run out of its cartridge. The circuit of the print head cartridge will burn if it continues to print when ink is absent; it will then overheat.

In the color cartridges (called tricolor), a color generally ends earlier than others. Do not continue printing with other colors.

Submit to recycle the cartridge as soon as possible in the course of a week. The cartridge cannot be stored for an extended period because the ink nozzles on the same print are dry, jeopardizing the ability to recycle the cartridge.

Never touch the copper plate on the head of the cartridge with your fingers; a discharge of static energy can burn the head.

When there are lines or points the print comes out blurry. Clear the head of the cartridge, always using the cleaning cycle of the printer.

Do not leave the cartridge in a vehicle where it can heat up. This makes the ink expand and leak.

Do not expose the cartridge to pressure changes (air travel). Lots of pressure bearing down on the cartridge can cause it to be destroyed.

There are special instructions for many Epson printer ink cartridges. Check the labels carefully identifying the protective tape to remove it before installing the cartridge. If you have questions, contact their office.

After installing a new or recycled cartridge, print at least two pieces of evidence to settle the flow of ink.
